One of the reasons I love sending clients on vacation to Cancun and Riviera Maya is because I know they’ll come back delighted. Mexico has a wealth of experiences, sights, and relaxing amenities that are sure to delight any traveler.

Two of my favorite areas are Cancun and Riviera Maya. These locales have kept me coming back time after time and I want to share a few reasons why they are some of my best-loved destinations.

THE PEOPLE

As with any destination, the people take it from a vacation to an experience. The welcoming and gracious attitudes of all those living in the Riviera Maya and Cancun make this experience truly unique. As soon as you step off the plane you’re greeted with smiling faces and warm personalities. These people are happy to share their culture, insights, and wealth of knowledge to make sure you have a trip you won’t forget.

THE HISTORY

Deep roots create beautiful history for you to enjoy. Parts of these areas date back 1000s of years. From Mayan ruins to colonial villages, these territories have a seemingly limitless abundance of antiquity. There’s no doubt that you’ll find yourself on at least one excursion to check out all the sites that these places have to offer. Whether it’s a day trip to Chichen Itza or a shorter tour to Tulum, you will have a better appreciation for the world at large after stopping in at these heritage sites.

THE NATURAL AMENITIES

No need to be coy, everyone knows you’re headed down here for the beaches. And why wouldn’t you? These are some of the best stretches of sand on earth! Beaches are easy to enjoy, but there’s so much more to explore! Snorkeling and swimming in cenotes, off-roading, deep-sea fishing, and so much more, you’ll have a hard time squeezing in time to sit on the beach!

THE CULTURE

If you’re looking for an enriching cultural takeaway, then you’re sure to find it here. There’s so much to see and experience and locals that are willing to share it all. If you’re like me, you’re on the hunt for the best local food around. Tacos, anyone? There are many authentic Mexican cuisines just waiting for you to try, it’ll be hard to choose which one. But it’s not just food; music, dancing, and more that are all within reach of your resort grounds. You’re sure to fly back home with a greater appreciation for Mexico, its people, and its culture.

The depth of experiences available to you is hard to capture in a short post like this. If you’re interested in learning more about Cancun & Riviera Maya or just Mexico in general, reach out at kate@katestravel.com for your free complimentary consultation!
